Depression and sadness are terrible things for human beings. We offer you a prayer to overcome sadness and heal depression, but you must have that faith that God asks of us. Overcoming depression is not easy, healing depression is not easy either, but with God everything is possible. Prayer to overcome sadness and depression

My Lord, thank you for being attentive to everything I need and to everything that happens to me because I know that you love me and want the best for me. I feel that your immense love accompanies me and makes me grow, so today and always, I thank you for everything you do in my life.

I want to begin each day of my life with strength and with the certainty that your power and mercy are coming upon me, and I receive this blessing with joy and gratitude. I have full confidence in your immense goodness and that you never abandon me, especially when sadness and depression want to envelop me in their discouraging shadows.

Today I can and I want to say with confidence: "I will not give up, because I know that You, my Lord, are with me, even though I cannot see you and sometimes even cannot feel you, I know that You are there, I know that You care for me". Pour out your blessings on me and help me to face every complicated or painful situation.

Even though there are a thousand and one conflicts around me, You are capable of giving me inner peace if I trust You, because You have an immense love for me that goes beyond all meaning. Give me, my Lord, a little of your strength to feel secure in my journey and to be able to be calm and peaceful for my people as well. Remove this depression from my life.

I shield myself in your word that blesses and heals: "As a loving Father is with his children, so is the Lord with his faithful. (Psalm 103:13) Amen.

Advice on how to overcome sadness and depression.

Let God work in your life even when you don´t see the light in your path, He is in control of everything. Keep trusting Him and don´t stop walking.

Find refuge in the Word of God, because in it there is hidden strength that wants to free your soul from all feelings of sadness and depression in your life. I invite you to pray this Psalm every day:

"I take refuge in you, Lord, may I never be disappointed! Deliver me, for your righteousness´ sake; incline your ear to me and come quickly to my aid. Be for me a rock of protection, a stronghold where I am safe, for you are my rock and my stronghold: for your name´s sake, guide me and lead me.  Draw me out of the net that has been cast for me, for you are my refuge. I put my life in your hands: you will rescue me, Lord, faithful God. (Psalm 31:2-6)

Good Father, I cling to You with confidence as I walk a path of despair, caused by all those fears that I allowed to invade my interior, causing me desolation, sadness, apathy and depression. You are my hope. I give You power over my life so that You may come and heal what needs to be healed. You have a plan of love and blessing for my life, and this little obstacle I present is NOTHING compared to your power. Therefore, I trust in your restorative grace for my life, you are my ABBÁ, my close dad and heavenly friend. Everything will prosper in your Name if I continue to persevere in this struggle.
